Holo

The aim of Holo was to being 8i's volumetric technology to the masses in a fun, engaging way that promoted content creation and sharing. Initially this involved users manually rotating, scaling and placing 'holograms' into the real world using augmented reality through the device's camera. Additional design and functionality was later added to take advantage of iPhone X, ARKit and ARCore, enabling users accurately lock holograms in the world space.

The complete experience was designed from the ground up, including branding, UX/UI and marketing. This was a particularly exciting and rewarding project, getting to work with many interesting brands including Sony, Marvel and MTV, including a range of celebrities. To date, Holo has had over 1 million downloads and is also featured in the 'Best of 2017' showcase on the App Store.
